Description

Berry Creek Falls Loop is regarded as one of the most beautiful hikes in the Bay Area and takes you past 3 stunning waterfalls.
Unfortunately, this trail is closed due to a past fire. See CA.Gov for updates on trails in Big Basin.
Nestled in California's oldest state park, the popular Berry Creek Falls Loop hike begins at the Big Basin park headquarters. If you're up for 11 miles, a thousand feet of elevation gain through towering redwoods and along serene creeks, and spread out over a half-day, then this is the hike for you. Veteran Berry Creek Falls hikers recommend a counter-clockwise loop starting on the Sunset Trail, turning left on to the Berry Creek Falls Trail, taking another left onto the Skyline-to-the-Sea trail, which returns to the trailhead.

Filled with beautiful waterfalls and incredible Redwoods, Big Basin State Park is truly a treasure for the Bay Area.

Great trail with lots of waterfalls to hike to. Make sure you dont take any detours especially near the beginning/end. Sad Big Basin got so burnt during the fires this year.

This is one of my all time favorite hikes. Walking through the redwood trees makes you feel so small. The area is incredibly lush and green. There were banana slugs and salamanders everywhere. We chose to camp overnight at the campground above the falls. A truly incredible place.

I've hiked this trail 3 times now. It's long, but worth it for all the waterfalls. The first waterfall is usually crowded, and is the only one with an overlook. I'd stop here just for a picture (if you need one) and go on to the next couple waterfalls, which are more fun to spend time at.
